In the sort of climax to the Formula One season that would probably be rejected by a Hollywood producer as “too clichéd”, Kimi Räikkonen became the third Finn to capture the Drivers’ World Championship. Victory in Brazil was enough to secure a one-point win in the title race, after Fernando Alonso finished third and rookie sensation Lewis Hamilton could do no better than 7th place. FINAL. (A Marca)

British Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone voiced confidence Sunday that rookie championship leader Lewis Hamilton can win the drivers' title in Brazil.
Ecclestone also said there was no need for Hamilton's McLaren bosses to favour the 22-year-old over his more experienced team-mate mate defending champion team-mate Fernando Alonso, because he is simply so good.
"I don't think they need to favour anybody, I think Lewis will win quite easily so I don't think there is any necessity to favour anybody," he told BBC radio ahead of the Sao Paolo race, the last of the season.
"Just look at his CV and you'll see the reason. He's proved it. He's the new kid on the block and he's leading the world championship in the last race," he added. (Eurosport, antes da corrida)
